So.... Sara, Giulia, Corinne, Amy, and I were on our way back from Amoeba when we came upon a red carpet event in front of the Arclight. We were asked if we wanted to see Al Gore speak in 5 minutes at a function for his new TV channel "Current", and we said 'sure, why not.' Next thing you know we were in the theater and out came Al Gore, ten times more animated and convivial than he ever was on the campaign trail.
This is a hand held cropped 100mm shot taken from about the 5th to last row in a large stadium-seating theater. I love having spot meter and manageable noise at 1000 ISO.

Al Gore is an excellent speaker. I agree, if
he had his "Inconvenient Truth"
stage presence during the 2000 campaign,
history might, no, would have turned out
differently. Nice shot by the way.

I have heard Al Gore always comes across much
better in person than he ever did on TV

Seriously, he was actually really good. Drew
a bunch of laughs from a befuddled crowd,
most of whom didn't even know that Gore was
showing up. Made some really incisive
comments about the future of media too. He
earned a bit of respect from me that night.

Great. And, it's nice to see Al finally
hitting his stride. You caught him with his
"I'm happy to be me" face on. Well
done.
