Mallards in Kings

Everyone who's been to Cambridge fawn over the architecture, the churches, and the cobbled streets, but one of the more subtle things to look out for while you're there is the wildlife :)

This is a Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) waddling on the King's College grounds by the banks of the River Cam. Ducks there are healthy, plump, and absolutely tempting to all who love roast duck.

Flowers look more radiant, bloom bigger, and smell sweeter when it's cold outside.

The Little Gift Shop On the Corner

I've learnt an invaluable lesson today -- not everyone on flickr is looking for critical opinions. Many just want their awards and "well dones". Note to self: Have more respect for others and withhold critical opinions unless asked for.

Anyways, I swear I'll post something in colour the next time round...maybe :) This is the reason why I like Cambridge so much -- there's always something absolutely quaint to see.

Located in the heart of the bustling Cambridge city centre on the corner where Rose Crescent meets Trinity Street, The Little Gift Shop on the Corner is one cute place to visit :) . And yes, all criticisms (constructive ones) are welcomed ;)

Homeless in Cambridge

Rather close to the great library is an old church -- The Great St Mary's (GSM). Apparently according to the wiki, University Officers must live within 20 miles of Great St Mary's, and undergraduates within three!

Anyway we walked in, and I know it's hard to believe, but there are homeless peeps in Cambridge. Somehow I thought there'd be none :/

(p.s:It's my first time toying around with some textures. Any thoughts?)

The Union Jack atop GSM

Climb to the top of the Great St Mary's and you'll find a cool lookout point! I didn't quite get a good shot of the lookout, but right in the centre is a pole with the UK flag flying high.
